Privacy
We collect as little as we can. You can browse everything without an account, and if you make one, you can export or delete all of it in one click each.
Last updated October 9, 2026
The short version
- Browsing needs no account and sets no tracking cookies.
- Accounts are for people aged 18 and over. Parents choose for their children.
- We keep your name, email and Google ID. Not your photo, birthday, phone number or location.
- No advertising, no ad personalisation, no selling or sharing your data.
- Your watch list, reviews and time data are yours: export or delete them any time.
What we collect, and why
When you sign in
Sign-in is with Google only. Google tells us your name, your email address and a private Google ID. We use them to recognise you, to show your name on reviews as a first name and last initial, and to keep you signed in. We don't ask for more than that, and we don't keep your Google photo or any Google access tokens.
What you do on the site
Films you save, mark as watched or skip. Reviews you write (stars, words, reactions). Reports you send. If you leave time tracking on: how long you spend choosing (counted automatically while you're active) and how long you say you watched a film. Only you can see your own numbers. We only ever look at totals across everyone.
When you search
We keep the words people search for, with no name, no account and no address attached, so we can find films people are looking for. These are deleted after 90 days.
Technical records
Like any website, our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes your IP address to deliver pages and block abuse. When someone sends a report, we keep a daily-changing scrambled code from their address, not the address itself, to stop the same person flooding us.
Cookies
We set only what the site needs to work:
- A sign-in cookie (only if you sign in), so you stay signed in.
- An age-setting cookie, so we remember the age ceiling you chose.
- A short-lived confirmation cookie (10 minutes) during sign-in, remembering that you ticked “I'm 18 or older”.
We use privacy-friendly traffic counts that set no cookies and keep no profile of you.
Other companies involved
- Google handles sign-in, under its own privacy policy.
- Cloudflare hosts the site and stores its data.
- TMDB supplies film information. Posters and photos load directly from TMDB's image servers, so those servers can see that your browser asked for an image.
- YouTube plays trailers, but only after you press play, in its privacy-enhanced mode.
- JustWatch opens only when you click “Where to watch”.
Your choices
- Export everything we hold about you as a file, from your settings.
- Delete your account, watch list, reviews and time data in one step. It happens immediately and can't be undone.
- Turn off time tracking any time. We stop counting straight away.
Children
Bingeable is a guide for families, but accounts are for adults aged 18 and over, and we ask you to confirm that before you sign in. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you think a child has made an account, tell us and we'll delete it. We designed this with children's privacy laws in mind, including COPPA in the United States and India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, by keeping accounts adult-only and collecting almost nothing.
Changes and contact
If we change this page in a way that matters, we'll say so at the top. Questions, or a request we can't handle from your settings? Write to hello@bingeable.io.
